Ohio Property
Offer Update

In July, Creator's Praise Ministries made an offer on a wonderful piece of property in Hamilton, Ohio. The property was owned by a local Lutheran church and held great promise for the first resort location. Although we were 99% certain that this was the "Promised Land", it was not in God's plan for Creator's Praise to go onto this land. The owning congregation in Ohio accepted a last minute offer from a local ministry. The interesting thing was that this same ministry tried to purchase the property five years earlier at an auction. They did not, however, acquire the land at that time, as members from the Lutheran congregation in Hamilton won the bid. God has interesting timing! We give thanks that this property, so suited to ministry, will be used by God for wonderful things! We were, of course, disappointed and quite shocked, but 15 minutes after receiving the news, we pried our jaws off the floor and resumed excitement for the unknown future that God had in store of Creator's Praise Ministries. Perhaps one day we will understand the purpose of the Ohio negotiations in the history of Creator's Praise Ministries, but for now, the Lord has simply provided a very clear "no", and we thank Him for His divine guidance.

What's Next?!

There is definitely one thing we learned from our Ohio negotiations, and to be honest, we're a little embarrassed to admit it. It's wrapped up in an old familiar saying, "Don't count your chickens before they hatch!" So, if you're wondering what's going on with Creator's Praise Ministries in our search for property.....well, we're not going to tell you! Why, we could at this very moment be working on the deal of a lifetime, but you'd never know it! Believe us when we say that we're doing it for your own good! Seriously, though, the next time we have an exciting announcement, it will mean that the deal is done, and we are getting started. In this way, we don't bring all of you along on our wild roller coaster ride. Just be assured that we are continuing full steam ahead in the pursuit for property and getting the word out about this exciting new ministry. Are we working on something special right now?
Hmmmmm....I wonder.

Pennsylvania LLL Picnic

Wow! What a great reception we had from the members of the Northeastern Pennsylvania churches at their annual Lutheran Laymen's League summer picnic. It was a beautiful, sunny day at the end of August. Pastor Grimm preached at Mount Pocono in the morning. Then we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of food, fellowship and games. Pastor Grimm enjoyed leading vespers toward the end of the day. An offering was also received for Creator's Praise. The group had set a goal of $800 to be matched by Thrivent. The goal was met, and Creator's Praise will soon be receiving a special gift of support for over $1600 from these churches! Praise the Lord for the generous support of His people. In addition, the congregation of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, recently sent a gift of $500. We would like to thank everyone involved in making that such a special day.

Contributions that we have received over the past year have been put to good use in supporting the promotion of this new ministry as we have shared the vision and concept of outreach with congregations and people along the eastern US. Now funds are being gathered for the actual development of property. The congregations of Northeastern Pennsylvania are not alone in their desire to see this ministry become a reality. They are joined by congregations in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, and Iowa.

On Sunday, October 5, the congregation of St. John, Clinton, Iowa, celebrated a Mission Sunday in combination with their LWML Sunday and received a special offering designated toward Creator's Praise Ministries. Thank you!

For the time being, we are settled in Coldwater, Michigan, while Pastor Grimm does some "tent making" at his father-in-law's lumber yard. On October 10-13, we will be traveling to Davenport and Clinton, Iowa.
